A SATA enclosure like no other, the Hydra LAN offers the latest in network attached storage technology. Workstations connected to the same network have access to the Hydra's massive 4-bay storage space. Plus, with 2 available USB host ports, any attached USB device is also accessible on the network. Used in conjunction with BitTorrent™, the Hydra LAN can be set to download media files from the Internet and save it onto its internal SATA hard drives. With powerful RAID technology, all your downloaded media and data files can be safely backed up. The Hydra LAN leads the pack with innovative design and incredible performance.
4-Bay HDD Storage Enclosure
The Hydra is designed to house two to four 3.5" SATA hard drives with the option to setup your drives with different RAID configurations. Use it as a reliable backup for your important data with RAID 1 or 5, for optimal performance and speed with RAID 0, or simply combine multiple drives in one location to create one large volume with JBOD. The Hydra comes with a removable hot swap rack, making installing and replacing the hard drives quick and easy.

Network Attached Storage (10/100/1000)
Multiple users can access the Hydra LAN to share and exchange files via Gigabit Ethernet connection. Set up shared folders and let users access the files via local network connection using SMB or FTP. For admins, the web interface offers useful tools such as user and share management, disk utility, plus other system and network tools to let you manage the Hydra with ease.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) & Bonjour
The Hydra LAN provides seamless connection to your home network and easy setup with the help of Bonjour and the UPnP network protocol. Simply access "My Network Places", browse for the network attached storage device, click on it to open and you are in the game, that's it! The service discovery protocol Bonjour offers support for iTunes, making it easy to share your music files on the home network. An optional UPnP media server is available on request for OEM customers, allowing you to stream your multimedia files to other UPnP clients on the same network.

Media Download Management
Used in conjunction with its built-in BitTorrent™ client, the Hydra LAN can be set to download media files from the Internet and have it saved directly to the internal SATA hard drives. You can then turn off your computer and go about other things (like sleeping!) and when you come back, you will have all kinds of new media files to enjoy.

USB Backup & Printer Server
The Hydra comes with two additional USB host ports for USB storage devices and USB printers. Use the backup function as a convenient way to quickly copy your files from an external USB drive to the internal SATA hard drives or use the printer server to share your USB printer on the local network.
